Her name was New York and she took his heart away

NYC was of course utterly amazing, i've never been to a city so HUGE. There was just billboards and bright lights everywhere and they did nothing in any size but massive. There wasn't much in the sense of style though in all honesty  though of course it could have something to do with the fact that it was below freezing and snowing most days although i'm sure London fashionistas still make the effort even if it's a hail storm out there!

Jumper: Topshop
Skirt: Zara
Necklace: H&M
Lipstick: Mac

Here's an outfit I went for during one of my days out there, don't be fooled though i've so many layers under there i'm sure i weighed almost double. I'm wearing my bargainacious maxi skirt from Zara I nabbed in the sale for £7, which is why I bought it as usually i feared I may end up looking like a munchkin what with the fact I just hit 5 foot tall, but i'm pretty sure I looked normal height. I a, also in LOVE with my mac colour, it's called 'Rebel' and I would literally sleep in it if I could, it's just so perfect for every outfit and suits my new dark locks.

Although I am so grateful I got to visit New York, it didn't quite have the appeal that I love about London, something was just slightly missing. Possibly it was the crazy amount of tourists there so consequently double the amount of tourist attractions and people trying to sell you things (my mum actually got convinced into buying a CD from two huge black rap guys on Times Square, she paid 10 dollars then promptly plonked it in the bin round the corner, crazy!). It also seemed to be a complete mission to any form of shopping area, of which i was mostly disappointed. But I do think that it's because we didn't visit Greenwich or East village, which are supposedly much better. So overall, I am truly ecstatic that I got to visit the city, but unless someone was taking me for free, or to fashion week, i'm unsure if I would personally pay to visit... It that something awful to say?

Any of you ever been to The Big Apple? What were your thoughts?

On another note, I start my Company Magazine internship on Monday and excited doesn't even begin to cover how I feel. I will try and keep daily outfit posts and let you know what's going on in the Company world!

  1. I've been to New York twice and loved it, but it was in the summer so I think that makes a massive difference. It's a shame you didn't get to Greenwich Village, as it really is something special. Congrats on the internship!
